BVG, Bauer-Verfahrenstechnik-GmbH, out of Greifenberg/Ammersee in Germany, has enjoyed remarkable growth over the last few years, consolidating its worldwide leadership in enzyme starch conversion systems. The company’s Super-ECC® (Enzyme Continuous Conversion) is the flagship enzyme starch processing plant. With more than 200 Super-ECC systems in production, BVG leads the world in enzyme starch processing equipment.
In Central Europe BVG’s market share for 2015 – 2017 has been over 90%. During that time BVG delivered to the European market 17 Super-ECC enzyme starch plants, along with 20 additional plants to other markets around the world. Example orders include Parenco PM 2 in Renkum Netherlands, which also included an order to provide their chemical additive plant; Schoellershammer PM 6 and Jass PM 4 in Düren and Fulda, Germany respectively; Heinzel Papier PM 1 in Laarkirchen, Austria; and LEIPA PM 5 in Schwedt, Germany, which also included supplying their chemical additive plant for wet end and DIP.
Most recently BVG was honored by Nine Dragons, China to supply 6 chemical additive plants, and 6 Super-ECC systems, with an option of two more and 3 glue kitchens for corrugating plants. This was the biggest single order BVG has received since its founding in 1984. Many more projects are in the pipeline right now.
Some paper companies, like Palm Paper in Europe and Pratt Industries in the USA, have switched all of their mills to BVG equipment. This is a remarkable step, because before that the paper mills operated systems from other suppliers.
This tremendous increase in demand has exceeded our expectations. Obviously the growth of the packaging paper market has brought significant capital investment into size and film presses. But also significant innovation by BVG has played a major role.
BVG has developed improved technologies in both our Super-ECC enzyme starch conversion systems and in our other processing equipment, like service stations for size and film presses. BVG innovations have been granted several patents in areas including:
- High TurbulenceStarch Degradation System “Super-ECC”
Using this technology starch savings of up to 20% are achievable. - No Poll®
Device to process enzyme starch withoutany effluent (No Pollution). Not only is this process environ-mentally responsible, but it also provides significant starch savings over other enzyme starch systems. - Separator GS®
A special system to eliminate sand and ash in service stations. Elimination of sand is exceeding 70%. This reduces wearing in service stations, metering systems like rods, and roll covers and improves paper quality.
- Kidney Loop® with Super-Strainer SPS
Full hydraulic pressure filter system in service stations, to complexly eliminate vibrating screens. The filtration process takes place in a by-pass separate to the feed to the film press. This prevents pressure variation in the applicator. - Super-Strainer ST
Full hydraulic pressure filter system in the feed line to the applicator, with double recycling of the rejects.
This device provides cleaner starch and rods and allows the application of dye in the film press. Pressure variations are eliminated as well.
The BVG–Portfolio covers all chemical processing equipment necessary in the paper industry. This is a significant range of products, considering that there may be more than 40 chemicals required to produce quality paper.
BVG offers unloading stations, tank and silo farms, all kinds of “in situ” processing equipment, complete coating kitchens, filtration and metering systems. BVG also holds a strong position in automation solutions, ranging from small PLC-based skids to mill-wide DCS systems.
The primary focus of BVG is the paper industry, but also other markets are of interest. For instance, BVG is implementing a large-scale project for the glass silk industry in Georgia, USA at the moment. In the corrugation market, BVG also is well respected for their high quality, advanced technology, high efficiency and fully automated glue kitchens “Super-Glue®”.
All projects are based on our commitment to quality, under the motto: BVG – Best Value Guaranteed!
