BVG, Bauer-Verfahrens-technik-GmbH, Greifen-berg\/Ammersee, Germany, was commissioned for LEIPA’s PM 5 project to supply the wet end and DIP processing and dosing systems for chemical auxil-iary materials, as well as the enzymatic starch con-version system, and the workstations for the Speed-Sizer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

There are a total of 85 dosing points that run through the entire plant like a network.
\nThe plants were delivered as turnkey sys-tems, i.e., including containers, complete piping and wiring, electrical equipment, programming, visualization, engineering as well as assembly and commissioning.
\nAt the heart of the BVG delivery for the PM 5 is the Super-ECC Enzymate-Continu-ous-Conversion system for native starch, of which over 200 units have been sold world-wide since the first prototype was released in 1978.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Among the new acquisitions is the “high turbulence starch degradation” process, in which the quality of the starch pastes pro-duced is increased once more. This process is patented in Europe.<\/p>\n

Another highlight is the “polution-free” starch preparation process called “no-poll.”<\/p>\n<\/div>

Here, the starch-containing flushwater accumulated during the start-up and shutdown of the plant is recycled. This concept is also pat-ented in Europe. Another new feature is “on-demand” starch production, which follows pick up consumption on the Speed-Sizer by flow control.<\/p>\n

Upgrades have also been made in the working stations of the Speed-Sizer. The working tank, called “Separator GS” is a special design to eliminate sand and heavy impurities, allowing them to be re-moved at the bottom of the unit. In light of the ongoing deterioration of waste pa-per, this technology is highly welcome by paper makers. Among other things, re-moving sand helps to increase paper strength and protect the rods and roll cov-ers from wear.<\/p>\n

Another highlight is the so-called “kid-ney loop”. It is a device to eliminate fibers and minor impurities from the feed to the film press. It is installed in the bypass and therefore has no impact on the pressure conditions of the main flow, approaching the film press.<\/p>\n

This device is also patented in Europe. Customers benefit when sys-tems are delivered turnkey. It means that interfaces that potentially lead to problems during commissioning, can be omitted.<\/p>\n

Es-pecially for chemical additives, it is import-ant to have a mill-wide automated concept to control and monitor flows, keeping track of usage and tie it into an ERP system, like SAP. It is also worthwhile, that the elec-trical system, programming, and visualiza-tion are provided by a single source and are part of the entire order.<\/p>\n

The BVG systems were designed to meet the highest quality standards and of-fer state-of-the-art technology. In addition to functionality, it is important to BVG that the systems are well engineered with easy access for maintanance. The unique “BVG clean design” is setting new standards in the industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>
